We are delighted to announce the newest members of our ClassDojo Community team, Ciara Brennan and Nigel Lane!

Ciara Brennan

Ciara has been teaching at St Peter’s Primary for four years. She’s currently a 6th Class teacher but has taught classes at the senior end of primary school as well. St Peter’s Primary is one of the most followed Irish primary schools on Twitter at @StPetersBray and their blog, stpetersbrayblog.com, has been honoured with many blogging awards! You can also find Ciara on her personal twitter account at @PrimEDTeacher.

Ciara is a PDST tutor, delivering courses to teachers and professionals on the use of ICT in the classroom. She coordinates and runs the Teachmeet East events, successfully organising Ireland’s first Teachmeet forum for primary teachers and principals. Ciara is also a regular contributor at national CESI events, a member of the board of directors of UCD Students’ Union, and was the national primary teacher representative for Safer Internet Day 2015! Ciara is extremely passionate about underprivileged education and how to best utilize ICT in the classroom. We are thrilled to have Ciara join the ClassDojo Community team.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity to be a ClassDojo Ireland Community Lead because it combines two major interests of mine: interacting with other educators, especially on an international level, and using an online tool to further participation in the classroom. ClassDojo is a brilliant tool because it’s so accessible and works beautifully in communicating classroom life to the home. Having used the site for a long time now, and advocated on its behalf at Teachmeets and teaching courses, I’m delighted to be formally joining the team with Nigel. I’m looking forward to communicating with people internationally to help grow the ClassDojo community!” -Ciara

Nigel Lane

Nigel has spent the past eight years teaching at St. Corban’s B.N.S., Naas. He is currently part of the special education team, having spent his previous years at St. Corban’s working with senior classes. Nigel blogs regularly at The Inside Lane and created and manages EdBlogsIE to capture blog posts from other Irish educators.

You can find Nigel on Twitter at @NL_84, where he regularly takes part in education-related Twitter chats. He is a member of the national executive of the Computers in Education Society of Ireland and has attended and organised numerous conferences with the rest of the CESI team. Nigel is one of ClassDojo’s most veteran users, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him as a ClassDojo Ireland Community Lead!

“I’m really looking forward to the role of Community Lead in Ireland as I’ll get to work closely with Ciara Brennan to help spread the good ClassDojo news here in Ireland! I’ve been using ClassDojo for a number of years now and at one time a screencast I created was used on the official website as a “how-to” guide for teachers! I feel this is an excellent opportunity to continue to play my part in helping other teachers discover and explore the benefits of using ClassDojo.“ -Nigel
